Recycling & recovery of wind turbines

Sustainable recovery of wind turbines

New and innovative methods for environmentally sound recovery

ROTH International has developed its own in-house recycling methods in collaboration with Fraunhofer Institute. We promise to dispose of your wind turbine professionally, regardless of its size or location, even in cases where other specialist companies 'throw in the towel'. We have the skills and know-how to sustainably process, recycle, and dispose of any existing composites.

We recycle virtually all materials from your equipment

ROTH International optimizes existing recycling methods

Innovative recycling helps recover a multitude of materials.
Most components of wind turbines are made of reinforced concrete, steel and metals, all of which can be easily recycled. The nacelle housing and the rotor blades of many wind turbines are made of CFRP and GFRP. These carbon fiber reinforced plastics can be directly recovered if recycled by ROTH International's successful recycling methods.

Unique recovery of CFRP & GFRP (contained in wind turbines).
An advanced method enables ROTH International to process the CFRP & GFRP and to produce new components from it. These recycling methods have been optimized over several years for environmentally friendly and sustainable recycling.
Thanks to our recycling know-how, ROTH International has the skills to recycle not only GFRP, but CFRP and other composites as well.

Thanks to our recycling know-how, we also have the expertise to recycle other objects made of similar materials in an environmentally friendly manner:

Wind turbines with rotor blades made of CFRP / GFRP

The solution for reusing CFRP / GFRP

Training-based expertise for handling CFRP / GFRP contained in rotor blades.
Our staff is trained in the handling of CFRP / GFRP, which means they know everything about that material. This knowledge, combined with many years of experience in selective dismantling, enables us to recycle composites such as carbon fiber reinforced plastics for direct reuse.
Unique methods for recycling entire wind turbines that are unsurpassed worldwide.
The cutting, separation and recycling methods developed by ROTH International ensure the sustainable recycling of carbon fibers. This makes ROTH International one of a few waste management companies capable of recycling the entire wind turbine - including the rotor blades - in an environmentally friendly manner.
ROTH International will also handle your rotor blades:

We also ensure the sustainable handling of CFRP / GFRP composites:

Complete package for wind turbine recycling

Disassembly, cutting-up, stripping-down, recycling, disposal

Recycling of all types of wind turbines - by ROTH International.
ROTH International's team will handle the recycling of your complete wind turbine. We will take care of the disassembly, cutting-up, stripping-down, recycling,  and professional disposal. Regardless of location and size, ROTH International dismantles any obsolete wind turbine at sea or on land.

Effective approach to materials recovery from wind turbines.
After removal of the rotor blade, we dismantle the nacelle, and then disassemble the tower into its individual parts. For offshore plants, we make the separating cuts both above and below the waterline.

Recycling and disposal of entire wind turbines.
The recyclable materials are reused as secondary raw materials after processing. The remaining materials are disposed of in accordance with the regulations. If requested by the customer, ROTH International's staff will even remove the foundations and deconstruct the access routes all the way back to greenfield status. We make sure that logistical solutions will proceed smoothly thanks to our partnerships with partner companies.

We handle the complete recycling of your wind turbines, even offshore.
